Holiday Fun!

With all this warm weather and no snow we’ve been having in the month of December is hard to believe that Christmas is just next weekend!  I hope everyone has finished their holiday shopping and at this point are just relaxing and enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday!  Two of my favorite holiday activities are happening this weekend!  Check them out!

Santaland is back! Haven’t heard of Santaland? Then this is the perfect year to get out and check it out. Santaland is held at Chestnut Ridge Park today and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm. This event has something for everyone in the family to try! Spend the day with activities for the children, music and singing, and even take stop and hang out with Santa and Mrs. Clause. My favorite part of this event is the hayrides! Like last year, you’ll have the chance to ride the hayrides to Santa’s Workshop and Cabin! Very Cool! Santaland at Chestnut Ridge Park is a free event today but if you are heading out they are taking donations for the Domestic Violence Shelters of WNY. They will be looking for cash, store gift cards, and toiletries to help those hurt by domestic violence.

Take a drive this weekend through a winter wonderland of lights!   The Hamburg Fairgrounds Festival of Lights is a favorite holiday tradition for me!  The whole family will love this event!  The Festival of Lights is a one of kind holiday event that has this beautiful drive through a light display.  In my personal opinion it’s absolutely breathtaking!  Once you’ve seen all of the sparkling lights you can head to the other activities they have set up at the Festival of Lights.  There will be a holiday Magic Show, Santa’s Magical Midway, and even Reindeer Carriage Rides.  Each year they seem to add something new just to keep it fresh and this year they went all out.  You can participate in their newly designed North Pole 3D adventure!  Sounds like that will be a lot of fun!   If you’re heading out to the Hamburg Festival of Lights bring along a non-perishable food item.  All of the items collected will be donated to the Food Bank of WNY.  Help out others in need this holiday season!  The Hamburg Fairgrounds Festival of Lights open right now on weekends and then starting December 15th the Festival will be open the entire week.  Gates for the festival are open 5:30 to 9:30.
