Health officials in Columbia, Missouri say they don't have anything in the books that specifically covers it, but say an ice ceam shop may be pushing the limits when they used cicadas as an ingredient.

When Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream shop introduced their newest flavor, they sold out within hours.

Employees of the ice cream shop collected cicadas from their own backyards, boiled 'em down then covered them with brown sugar and milk chocolate.  Then they were added to a base of   butter and brown sugar ice cream.  Does it sound good to you?  Apparently it sounded good enough for a crowd of people to sell-out their complete supply before they could even put in a display case.

Sparky's is promising they'll make a second batch this weekend.
