The time of year that so many people in New York State love has finally arrived, and it's time to get your checkbook ready. Property tax time is here, and counties are sending out their yearly tax bills all over the state.

That is happening in Western New York right now. While Erie County is trying its best to hold the line as much as possible regarding taxes, we, unfortunately, live in one of the highest-taxed areas in one of the highest-taxed states in America.

However, not everyone is taxed equally in Western New York, and some places pay much smaller tax bills than others. Some folks pay among the highest taxes in all of New York State.

Who Pays The Highest Property Taxes in Erie County?

Annually, the Erie County Department of Real Property Tax Services publishes a list of the tax rates for every City, Town, and Village in Erie County. They also estimate what the tax bill would be for a house that's worth $150,000 in each of those municipalities.
