Where to find cheapest gas prices in New York State

Gas prices are up slightly today across Western New York, but there are still some places in the 716 where you can fill up and save money.

According to AAA, the average price of gas in Western New York is around $4.20 per gallon. That is down slightly from last month, but still way above prices last year. At this time in 2025, gas prices in Western New York were at $3.16 per gallon.

While you won't find that price in Western New York in 2026, you can still find gas prices well below $4 here in the 716.

I was driving into work along RT 5 in Lackawanna when I saw a price so low that I had to take a picture. It was at the SNK gas station on the Hamburg Turnpike. As of this morning (around 4:10 am), gas prices were at $3.59 per gallon. That is the cash price, while the price if you use a credit card is slightly higher at $3.67 per gallon.

That price is one of the lowest prices for gas you will find in New York State. Right now, the cheapest gas in New York State can be found at WW Vandalia Gas Mart in Allegany. According to Gasbuddy.com, a gallon of regular unleaded gas is only $3.50.

You can also find gas for under $4 per gallon on the Reservations in Western New York. Gas prices range from $3.69 to $3.84, depending on where you plan on filling up.
