This has to have been one of the coolest things I have done in a long time. The folks from the Thunder of Niagara Airshow were kind enough to extend an invitation for me to ride int he squadron over WNY before the airshow weekend. I had no ideas what to expect but I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. There were two planes that they would divide the guest into; one was a bomber and the other was a transport plane. This is where it gets cooler!

The transport plane was a C-47 and it was the original lead plane in the second wave on D-Day. The things this plane had seen and the heroes who have flown on this plane kept running through my mind the entire day. To learn more about the Whiskey 7 and the plane's incredible history you can click here.

The flight was incredible and we were able to see WNY like we will never see again.

Here are some photos from the day and flight!

Thanks to everyone involved in the Thunder of Niagara Airshow for putting on a incfredible weekend!
