There is major news for those who love to see horses racing! History will be made this weekend in New York State.

Some of the top horses in the country will battling at Saratoga Race Course tomorrow. The field of 10 thoroughbreds for The Belmont Stakes includes Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan and Preakness Stakes champion Seize the Grey.

The race will be held in New York State due to the track being worked on. According to a report from ESPN: "The Belmont has been moved upstate to Saratoga Race Course because of renovations at Belmont Park that include the demolition of the current grandstand that opened in 1968, marking the first time it will not be run at Belmont Park since 1967".

As far as the weather is concerned, things are looking better for the Saratoga area for Saturday's race. There have been some strong storms in the region and some flooding over the last couple of days. However, the forecast is calling for the skies to clear near the track. By race time it is expected to be partly cloudy with a high around 71 degrees.

Beyond the race in Saratoga this weekend, there are some other great tracks around New York State that offer racing. For example, Buffalo Raceway on the Hamburg Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York. Live racing and betting takes place now through July!
