People Going Insane Over NYSEG Bills in New York State

No matter where you go lately, you can see people complaining about their NYSEG bill.

There were new smart meters that were going to be added to people's homes that were going to cost them a fee. Though, that fee has been kicking in, people have been complaining that their bill is much higher month-to-month and is extremely inconsistent.

NYSEG has previously said that there was going to be a large increase in their bills in 2024. Though, NYSEG has said the increase has nothing to do with the smart meters:

NYSEG senior manager for communication Shelby Cohen told WIVB News 4 the smart meters make readings more accurate, transmitting actual usage back to NYSEG to eliminate user error. “NYSEG and RG&E generate two million bills per month across the state,” Cohen said. “And of that we experience about one-half of one percent of customers needing to call us and look into an issue that they see on their bills", according to WIVB.com.

It cannot be a coincidence that it is happening to this many people.

Dude. lol we didn’t even get a new meter. Our actual was 179. Then the “estimate” was $259. Now my actual this month was $380. I was like the actual fuck when we didn’t run anything extra. Was took two air conditioners out. Like how in the hell

I have to admit it does seem fishy. Every time I look at my bill it is different. Very different and it has only been that way since 2024. We are talking over $100 difference per month. It does not make any sense. Have you had any problems?
