
How To Avoid A Massive Traffic Issue This Weekend In Western New York
Ellicottville is holding its annual Fall Festival this weekend (October 11-12), and as always, it has everything it needs to be an unforgettable time. However, there could be one thing that could put a snag in your plans if you're not ready for it.
Most people in Western New York know about Ellicottville's Fall Festival. There is so much to do, from scenic rides up the chairlifts at Holiday Valley, to arts & crafts shows and live music.

They've been named the 12th best fall festival in the country by Country Living and bring in around 10,000 visitors every year just to see what it's all about. However, anytime you have an event that big, there's a chance that you could run into some major traffic. This year, the chance is even bigger due to some construction that is happening in the area.
Construction could create a traffic issue on the 219 in Springville
For the past couple of months, there has been some construction that has been causing a slowdown on the 219 near Peters Road just south of Springville. They've been installing a roundabout to eventually help traffic flow a little more smoothly where the new 219 meets up with the old 219.
For now, if you're traveling south on the 219, you have to exit at Route 39 in Springville instead of driving all the way down to the Peters Road exit, where they're working on a roundabout.

Add thousands of people to that one-lane detour around the roundabout and you could run into some massive traffic.
How to avoid the construction on the 219 in Springville
We still want you to be able to enjoy all that Fall fest has to offer, though, so there are two things you can do to avoid headaches. The first is just to understand that it's there and just give yourself enough time to get through it. If you still want to drive the 219, just be prepared that it will probably take you a little longer to get there.
