The Taste Of Country Lineup That Never Made It To The Stage

We had some bad weather on show days. We had one show get postponed. But there was only one show that ever got completely canceled.

We did not have a show in 2020

We never ended up having an all-out Taste of Country show at the ballpark in 2020. It was the first time since 2001 that we ever had to straight out cancel. Of course, it was because of Covid that the entire show got scrapped. There was just no way to put the show on. But we did have a lineup set for that year. It would have been an amazing one. The original lineup looked like this:

Maddie & Tae
Fuzzy & The Rustbelts - TOC Riser Competition Winner

It would have been Jake Owen's second time at the Taste of Country and Lady A's first.

Here's what we did instead

While we weren't able to hold the show in the traditional sense, we still put on a show. We just did it, as we did everything else that year from March on, virtually. Not only did we have to cancel our Taste of Country, but we had to cancel our Spring Acoustic Show that year as well. So we had what we called our WYRK Virtually Acoustic Show instead. We were able to bring in our Taste of Country Riser winner, Fuzzy & The Rustbelts, along with Osborne Nash (the runner-up that year) and our 2018 Taste of Country Riser, Kate Mallen, to do a "socially distanced" show.

Following the locally produced show, we were able to get Russell Dickerson to perform a quick acoustic set as well.

While it wasn't as good as when we were all able to get together, it was nice to have an opportunity to hear live music, and we vowed to never take it for granted again.
