Western New York Company Planning $76 Million Expansion
Western New York is not on the same level as other parts of the country, in terms of economic growth, but things have been looking more up for the region over the last decade.
There are new businesses coming to the Buffalo area and that's with many different types of businesses and areas in food service, hospitality, management and so on.
There are quite a few large companies, which are based in Western New York, and that includes Moog Inc. out in Elma.
The company has a gigantic complex, located close to the I-400 and offers up design and manufacturing of electro-hydraulic and hydraulic motion, controls and systems in things like aerospace, defense and medical devices.
Moog is planning a further expansion, according to Buffalo Business First, which will cost $76 million.
The $76 million expansion will be at their Elma location in the way of a 150,000 square foot building, which will be used for added machining space.
This new expansion is not expected to create new jobs, according to Buffalo Business First.
If you have ever driven by Moog, then you know how massive it is. The complex looks like a college campus, with a multitude of buildings and housing offices and plants that both design and make many valuable and expensive equipment for things that are used by spacecrafts and the government; along with other companies.
Roughly 14,000 people are employed at Moog and many are based at the Elma location, which are the headquarters.
