WYRK is always proud to honor members of our community with our Good Kids of the Week, our Hometown Heroes and Roswell Park's Survivor of the Month. At Thursday night's WYRK EnergyMark Acoustic Show, we honored a young man who in just a short time has given so much to his community, but now faces a serious health challenge.

Nathan Brundage is 17 years old. He's a junior at Niagara-Wheatfield High School, a volunteer firefighter and an inspiration as he battles brain cancer.  Nathan and his family were our guests at the show courtesy of Country Music Inspires Cures and thanks to the help of the Brian Moorman PUNT Foundation and its Field of Dreams program, his friends at the Stone Buddies team at Children's Hospital and the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

As our special guest we presented Nathan a memento of his special night and in honor of his strength, courage and spirit. Thanks, Nathan, for making country music part of your life.  We're with you in your fight to beat cancer.
