National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday.  There are dozens of locations that will be open across Western New York from 10 am to 2 pm this Saturday to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

It's also a way to prevent drug abuse and rid your home of potentially dangerous unwanted medications.  All medications are accepted with no questions asked.

Prescription drug abuse is a nationwide epidemic.  Veterans seem to be most vulnerable to opioid overdoses.  They're twice as likely to die from accidental opioid overdoses than non-veterans.  The reason for that is that untreated chronic pain can increase risks of suicide, but when opioid treatment isn't managed correctly it can be fatal.
