Erin Hufford who graduated this past May was nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award which honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service, and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions.

According to the Canisius College website, Hufford had a stellar career for the Golden Griffins and was named the MACC player of the year in 2022 for woman's softball.
During her five-year career, Hufford was named All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference three times. She left the program career ranked fifth in school history with her 198 hits, third in career stolen bases, and 11th in runs scored.
She was also a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection, and she also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors following the 2022 campaign. She was one of 10 Canisius student-athletes to record a perfect 4.0-grade point average during the 2021-22 academic year.
Currently, Hufford is one of eight nominees from the MACC conference up for the award. Coaches and athletic directors from the conference will not discuss and vote for the conference's nominee and that name will be released later this month.
Besides being a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, Hufford is also a finalist for the 2021-22 Canisius Female Athlete of the Year.
Fans can vote for that award until July 7th. If you want, you can vote HERE.
