New Restaurant Opens Up at Popular Amherst Plaza
We're heading into the warm-weather season, which means more people will be venturing out for food and drinks.
Western New York is the most underrated place for restaurants in the country. That's pretty lofty praise but it's absolutely true, considering Buffalo isn't a huge vacation destination like other cities.
Despite the fact there have been a number of restaurants that have closed in recent years, there are also brand new ones that have opened in Buffalo and the surrounding suburbs.

One of the newest just opened at a popular Amherst plaza and it brings a unique setup to the north towns.
Buffalo Business First reports that Gastropub Kitchen has opened at 704 Maple Road in Amherst, which is also the plaza that houses Fuji Grill and Pizza Works.
Its two food concepts are Iconic Burgers and Bagawk! Hot Chicken -- both of whom focus on take out and delivery, but offer about two dozen seats. You walk up to the counter to order, giving it a fast food feel but with high-quality food.
What's cool is they have a third food menu concept coming, which will focus on street tacos, which is something you can't find that much of in the Buffalo area.
This is the former location of Flip Burger, which closed in 2021.
Hot chicken is something that is not normally found in Buffalo (Nashville staple), so that's something worth trying for sure if you go to the plaza at some point.
Hopefully, we get more new restaurants in the near future in Western New York.
