New Barbie Dolls Celebrate Diversity and Inclusiveness

Mattel announced their new line-up of Barbies this week, including a Barbie in a wheelchair, one with a prosthetic limb, and dolls with many different hair and body types.

The Barbie Fashionistas line aims to better represent girls around the world, down to every detail -- WGRZ reports the company "collaborated with UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and wheelchair experts to ensure authenticity in their product development. The toy wheelchair is modeled after a real, rigid frame wheelchair."

The dolls will be available in Fall 2019.
