You have heard the stories about car accidents that result in a driver fleeing the scene, and many of us feel the same emotion: disgust.

How can you abandon someone that may require medical attention and need help? It’s pretty selfish, if you ask me.

For Amber Chase, those stories became her reality when she learned what happened to her daughter on Saturday night.

While walking home, Chase’s 15 year old daughter was struck by a vehicle on Wayne Street in Olean, NY near the underpass. The car struck her from behind at approximately 9 pm on Saturday. It resulted in a 10’’ laceration to the back of her head which led to a seizure, her foot and ankle was left mangled and broken, and it happened in front of the 15 year old’s younger sister and her friends.

Chase shared the details of the horrific incident publicly on Facebook to see if anyone could help her identify the vehicle that struck her 15 year old daughter.

“If anyone has any info or knows anyone that was driving behind that car and saw the incident happen … if you know of anyone that may have any footage that can help the investigation, any info at all, please contact the police and request to make a report,” Chase shared on Facebook. “Anything to help us find who did this to her, contact Detective Kevin Blovsky who I believe is in charge of the investigation @ (716) 376-5673.”

So far, there have been mentions of a dark colored SUV, but the family is looking for any photographic evidence to help pinpoint the culprit. While it is promising that they may find answers, since the police have found pieces of the front bumper they can hopefully identify as a make and model, the Chase family needs all the help they can get.

If you see a vehicle that matches this description, with evident damage on the front left bumper, contact Detective Kevi Blovsky.
