Don't look now, but the Buffalo Sabres might actually be good this season.

The Sabres improved to 3-1-0 this regular season, after an impressive 6-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Forward Alex Tuch scored his first career hat trick, which just so happened to be the last three goals of the game, while Dylan Cozens, Rasmus Dahlin and Casey Mittelstadt scored the first three goals.

The Sabres looked faster than Calgary, which was the case against Ottawa and one can argue even Florida, who is considered one of the best teams in the NHL. The Edmonton Oilers are an extremely fast team but Buffalo kept up for the most part on Tuesday in their 4-2 win.

As for Thurday, one Sabres player made NHL history on Thursday.

Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin became the first defenseman in NHL history to score a goal in the first four games of a regular season.

Dahlin becomes the second Sabres defenseman ever to score a goal in four straight games, with the first being Phil Housley in 1988.

Dahlin was the best player on the ice last night and there's no question about that.

Calgary Flames head coach Darryl Sutter had high praise for Dahlin after the game.

Dahlin has been the best Sabres player so far and one of the best players in the NHL this season. It's still early but the Sabres look phenomenal so far. Even in their lone loss against the Panthers, they didn't play bad; Florida capitalized on the few Sabres mistakes.

The Sabres have two games left on this four-game road trip out west.

Saturday against thee Vancouver Canucks and Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken. After that, the Sabres come back for a four-game home stand.
