This week’s Hometown Hero is a woman who has continued to climb the ladder in the Army. Originally from Corfu, our Hometown Hero is 22-year-old Army Corporal Rebecca McCoy.

Corporal McCoy did her basic training in Oklahoma and continued on to graduate from airborne. Following her graduation, she has been stationed at Ft. Bragg, working hard and climbing the ladder, making corporal in just three short years. She is now serving our great nation just outside of Camp Phoenix in Afghanistan. Her family back home misses her greatly and is patiently awaiting her return. Her mom, dad, two sisters and three nieces can't wait to have her home again.

Thank you, Rebecca, for everything you’ve done for our country and your community from everyone here at WYRK. We are proud to call you this week’s Hometown Hero!

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button below. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.
