We have it really good in Western New York, all things considered. Sure, we have to deal with cold and snow for three to four months out of the year, but we have hardly any traffic, amazing summers and autumns, wonderful people and a crazy good food scene.

The local food places in Buffalo are a big reason why we love this region so much.

When it comes to national chains, we don’t have an abundance of restaurants to choose from. We have what every region has — your McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Applebee’s, Denny’s, Olive Garden, etc.

Buffalo is missing out on a lot of great fast-food and sit-down chain restaurants, such as Bojangles, Cook Out, Culver’s and Hardee’s.

Another place that has yet to come to Buffalo is Raising Cane’s.

Raisinh Cane’s is a fast food establishment that specializes in chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries and Texas toast. That’s essentially the whole menu, other than a few variations.

Buffalo Bills fullback/tight end Reggie Gilliam (who just signed a new contract extension) tweeted that Buffalo needs a Raising Cane’s.

This in response to Raising Cane’s coming to New Jersey.

Raising Cane’s originated in Louisiana but has expanded to over 600 locations. There are many of them in Ohio but none on Western New York.

Raising Cane’s would be a smash success in Buffalo. It’s such a simple menu but that focus has paid off for them. While we’re at it, let’s get Bojangles here too.

This comes after Isaiah McKenzie tweeted his support to being a Waffle House to Buffalo in 2021.

I’m with Gilliam, let’s get a Raising Cane’s in Buffalo.
