I vaguely remember a local station or two signing off at the end of the night here in Buffalo as a kid but not to the extent my mom and dad do, who have many memories of the different sign offs stations used to do.

Many stations aired the national anthem at the end of the night to sign off to their viewers.

WKBW (1980's)

WGRZ Buffalo 2 (1980's)

FOX29 (2012)
