Sabres New Team Dog Has Hilarious “Accident” In Front of Players
The Buffalo Sabres started off the 2021-2022 season with a 5-1-1 record, but have since lost five straight games. While the team's play on the ice is on the top of fans' mind, it's something off the ice that has won over the hearts of Buffalonians.
In case you missed the news on Tuesday, the Sabres officially announced they have a new team dog, named Rick.
Rick is a 7-month-old Newfoundland who is currently being trained to be a service dog, and will be eventually paired with a local veteran. It's a partnership with WNY Heroes. Rick is named after legendary play-by-play man, Rick Jeanneret.
The Sabres have been filling their social media accounts with Rick and posted a minute-long video yesterday of the new team dog greeting players and running around the facility.
The end of the video, however, is what many fans are talking about. Rick is playing around with the likes of forwards Tage Thompson and Zemgus Girgensons, and then proceeds to run over to have a rather unfortunate accident.
When you got to go, you got to go.
The Sabres play back-to-back games, tonight and tomorrow night. They host the Edmonton Oilers at KeyBank Center tonight, and host the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night.
The Leafs game will be one for the ages, because Canadians can finally come across the border and as we know in Buffalo, Leafs fans love invading KeyBank Center due to the fact the tickets are cheaper and many season ticket holders sell their tickets to Leafs fan.
