For the second straight game the Buffalo Sabres weren't able to put a single shot into the net.  This time they fell to the Dallas Stars 2-0.

It was a far cry from the embarrassing no-show against the Colorado Avalanche last Saturday, but still a shut-out loss.  With captain Jack Eichel serving the first game of a two-suspension the Sabres played with some intensity with an emphasis on defense.  And coming off that pathetic display in Denver the Sabres put shots on goal.

Jeff Skinner hit a pair of posts.  Tage Thompson was stopped on a breakaway.

The Sabres ended up with 35 shots for the game, but Stars goaltender Ben Bishop stopped every one of them for his third straight shut out and his second one against the Sabres this year.  Bishop has won 12 straight games against the Sabres.

The Sabres now have lost five in a row and 11 of their last 13.  They host Pittsburgh on Thursday.
