SEE IT: Significant Lake Effect Snow In New York State
Where is the snow? Across New York State, people are waiting and holding their breath wondering when winter weather will show it's face?
While we wait, there are some vivid memories that most have who live downwind of the Great Lakes of massive amounts of snow from the lake effect. In fact, there are portions of New York State who get the snow from lakes that are not even on the border of New York State.
But living in these areas, people know it is only a matter of time before it happens again. The water temps are warm and the conditions are right for the next big storm.
This month, there are some in Western New York who recall the "Snowvember" Storm that pounded the area. The National Weather Service has posted a few "Tweets" about the massive storm that buried portions of the Buffalo, New York area.
The National Weather Service says that:
"Within this band, there was thunder and heavy snowfall rates. In fact, at some times rates peaked at 6 in/hr"!
Some areas MAY get snow this week. However, the bigger issue for some is that there has not been any form of precipitation and it is a fire risk that is more concerning than the threat of snow.
