Signs of Spring in Buffalo

Seeing temperatures hit all time record highs in the month of February  has made me and I’m assuming many more itching for spring.  The fact is spring is just around the corner, and aside from the mild temperatures there are signs of the upcoming season all around Buffalo.

Whenever the home and garden shows hit the area it’s a sign of spring and we’ve had shows in Buffalo and at the Hamburg Fairgrounds not to mention the boat show. Nothing says spring like seeing boats, yard equipment and more.

Soon enough the patio bar at Mickey Rats will open for the summer and the Bison’s will throw out the first pitch at Coca-Cola Field.  You’ll start to see lines gathering at ice cream stands and more and more people walking and jogging in Delaware Park.

Things to look forward to real soon are people in shorts and sandals walking canalside, kayakers launching at Hamburg Town Park, cookouts at Buffalo Harbor State Park.

This year more than any in awhile, I’m very much looking forward to spring.
