We Didn’t See The Whole Picture With Stefon Diggs’ Goodbyes
Many people saw a very short handshake between Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen yesterday, but they didn't all go that way.
The Buffalo Bills were handed a big loss on Sunday by the Houston Texans. There's no question that the last two weeks have been rough for the Bills and for Bills Mafia. This game, in particular was one that seemed to have some extra stories behind the scenes.
It was the first game that the Bills would be playing against their former teammate Stefon Diggs and an AFC battle that they really could have used a win for. Everyone was calling it the Stefon Diggs revenge game and while the players tried to play it down before the game, Diggs didn't hold back about how much it meant to him after the game.
What most people saw was this brief interaction after the game between Diggs and his former quarterback, Josh Allen.
There's no question it came across as very cold and business-like. It does seem to be important that it was Josh that went looking for Stefon and not the other way around, but after seeing a little more, you can see that Stef was a little busy shaking hands with some of his other former teammates when Allen came over.
As you can see, most players seemed genuinely happy to see him after the game. You could see that some of them still look to him as a mentor and others as a friend.
The NFL is a weird organization. One day you're best friends with someone and the next they're lining up on the opposite sideline. It seems very obvious that something definitely went down between Allen and Diggs and it wasn't pretty. But they're both doing their best to be professionals about it and move on. But this is a good example of how you can't just see a short section of a video and know the whole story.
