There are 29 schools in the State University of New York system and there is a plan to raise tuition fees over the next few years.

The increase would be based on two year vs four year schools and each campus would be granted the freedom to raise the fee $100-$300.

The SUNY schools also will go after state aid and attempt to renovate as many of the 64 campuses as possible with a capital budget set at $6 million.

The plan is being considered this week and would take effect in 2017-2018.
