Usually, when you see green on weather radar, it indicates rain. In this case however, the green means bugs, particularly, grasshoppers.

The radar over Las Vegas the past few nights appeared to be rain but there was none at the time. It turned out to be swarms of grasshoppers that have embarked on the city and there were so many of them, it triggered the weather radar.

This is due to rain though. The rainfall this year has been twice the average in Las Vegas and you combine damp and hot and you get bugs, lots of bugs. The footage taken is incredible.
