Tenille Arts has been just crushing it in Canada for years.  Over the last couple years she's made a name for herself here in the US too.  I got the chance to chat with her about her success and some of the coolest things she's done this year.

We talked about just about everything from the success of her single, "Somebody Like That" to some of her current favorite artists.  The interview sounded like this:

On the success of “Somebody like that”

That was definitely a historic song…not just for you but for females.  Of course, it’s a #1, but also:

the first #1 song to be performed, written, and produced by all females

the first #1 song to be produced by a solo female

and the 1st #1 song here in the U.S. for a Canadian artist since 2007 & for a female Canadian Artist…as a Canadian…and a female…what does that mean for you?

Who should we be watching out for?

There have been so many females making a name for themselves in country music these days…do you have one that you think is one we should keep our eye on?

On the road with Lady A...

You were out on the road with Lady A on their "What a Song Can Do" Tour (with Niko Moon and Carley Pearce)…I saw on one of the nights you were all up on stage singing “Shape of you” the Ed Sheeran song…I always wonder what that’s like as a supporting artist.  How much of that is actually about trying to learn from the headliner…and how much is it about just soaking it all in…

What did you learn from them?

Do you think you’ve got one thing that you learned from Lady A that you’ll take with you?

On her Grand Ole Opry Debut

In 2019, you got the chance to step into the famous circle and made your Grand Ole Opry debut.  Were you more excited?  Or more nervous?

That time she sang at the Grand Ole Opry as a visitor...

When Tennile was young she was visiting the Opry and they asked if anyone wanted to get up and sing in the circle...she took them up on it!

Favorite tour stop

You’ve got The Grand Ole Opry House tomorrow in Nashville…then Erie, PA and Albany which are both not far from us…do you have a place that isn’t home…that you love to go to?  Like…your dream tourstop? (either one that you've already been to, or one that you've always dreamed of playing?)

The new album is dropping soon!

And you’ve got new music coming out soon…the new album is on the way October 22nd…tell us about the new project and what you’re most excited about with it?
