It's an event that normally brings in about 35,000 people to Niagara County, but this year like many other events, will be cancelled due to the pandemic.

The Kiwanis Club of Lewiston has put on the Peach Festival for over 60 years with a parade, live entertainment, rides, games, and more. They held out as long as they could, but after a bunch of cancellations that are integral to the success of the event, The 2020 Niagara Peach Festival is being canceled.

According to WIVB, the official announcement came from the Peach Festival Chairman Dean Beltrano:

“The Kiwanis Club of Lewiston is saddened to announce we will not be able to hold the Peach Festival this year.  After discussions with our vendors, the cancellation by our ride vendor, Amusement Rides of America and for the safety of our members, volunteers and the community at large, the Board of Directors decided it would be in the best interest to cancel the Festival this year and come back stronger in 2021. We thank the community for their continued support and look forward to seeing you all at Lewiston’s Academy Park in 2021.” --Peach Festival Chairman Dean Beltrano

The Peach Festival was scheduled to take place in Lewiston from September 10-13.

They're hoping to come back next year.  The 2021 Peach Festival has already been scheduled.  They've even put together a schedule of events that are available right now that will include the peach taste-off, a cheerleading competition, and more.
