This Scam Is Hitting Cell Phones In Buffalo

Scams always feel like they will hit every one else.  But this one is happening to people right here in Buffalo.  I got it on my phone too.

It's a phishing scam and authorities are warning people not to click on links like this.

The scam involves a text that reads:

Hello mate, your FEDEX package with tracking code GB-****-**** is waiting for you to set delivery preferences: (the link goes here).

The police agency above is from Massachusetts, but it's hitting people here in Buffalo too.

I got it on my phone.

Remember, if you'd like to track a package, make sure to only use the company's original website.  Do not click on a link from a text.
