The weather is going to get nasty this afternoon across Western New York. There will be a widespread range with a threat of severe weather, including a tornado, for parts of Western New York.

Afternoon Weather Threats For Western New York

Things started off pretty dry across Western New York, but that is set to change later on this afternoon as a fast-moving storm will move into the region, bringing widespread rain, thunderstorms, and possible hail. Also, some parts of Western New York, mainly in the Southern Tier, are under a slight risk of a tornado.

Most of the rain and severe weather should be East of Western New York by 1 am on Friday morning. We could have some lingering light rain for the morning commute tomorrow, but it will give way to some very summer-like weather heading into the weekend.

Weekend Weather Forecast For Western New York

It is officially summer here in the 716, and it looks like it will feel like summer this weekend in Western New York. After several weeks of below-average weather, things will bounce back this weekend.

Starting on Friday, the morning rain will give way to mostly sunny skies with a high near 74. Then the warm-up starts.

Saturday will be a day full of sunshine with temperatures soaring into the mid-80s. We are looking at a high near 85. The same goes for Sunday. Another day of mostly sunny skies with a high temperature in the mid-80s.

Things get warmer for Monday, with a chance of hitting 90 by the afternoon. It could be the first 90-degree day in Buffalo in 2026.
