Highmark Stadium and Keybank Center were the first to implement a policy on vaccinations.  Since then, Sheas has joined and now UB has announced a new policy.

If you were hoping to see almost any athletic or cultural events at UB this semester, you're going to need to be vaccinated.

They made the announcement that starting in October, if you want to attend any events at UB Stadium or Alumni Arena like football or basketball games, you will need to have at least one shot of the vaccine.  This policy also includes public cultural events in Slee Hall, the Center for the Arts and Alumni Arena, including the Distinguished Speakers Series and the commencement celebration honoring the Class of 2020 on Oct. 1.

The policy is very similar to that of Shea's Performing Arts Center where they will require at least one shot for the next couple weeks, but after that time period is up, you will need to show proof that you have completed the series.

"We feel this is in the community’s best interest. COVID-19 cases in the region have continued to climb. We want to be proactive and make sure we are doing our part to prevent further spread of the virus.” - Michael E. Cain, vice president for health sciences and dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

The policy involving one shot will be begin on October 1st.  The full series will have to be completed by October 30th to attend any of the above-mentioned events.

As far as masks go, they will no longer be required when spectators are outdoors in UB Stadium. But don't leave them at home.  You will need them for indoor locations in UB Stadium, including on the concourse and within club-level suites.

Masks also will be required at all times while attending events inside Alumni Arena, the Center for the Arts and Slee Hall.
