It's hard to not see the jokes and memes around various social media sites; the ones that are making jokes of the recently created Facebook page, "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us".

The event has generated massive amounts of engagement, including 1.6 million people who have said they are going to the September 20 event.

Even though it was created as a joke, it's gotten so popular that the United States Air Force has released a statement on the matter.

Nellis Air Force Base said in a statement that the Air Force is aware of the Facebook posting and says “any attempt to illegally access the area is highly discouraged.”

The Air Force says it does not discuss its security measures and that the test and training range provides “flexible, realistic and multidimensional battlespace” for testing and “advanced training in support of U.S. national interests.”

It goes without saying but it's hard to think anyone would take this seriously...but like Billy Currington says, "people are crazy." Let's hope nobody shows up to this event...
