Amherst police are investigating the theft of hundreds of election campaign signs around the town.  Most of the thefts involve Democratic candidates for Amherst town offices, including Williamsville mayor Brian Kulpa who's running against Republican candidate Marjory Jaeger for town supervisor.

Most of the stolen signs have been replaced with the signs of Republican candidates for the same offices.  Police say they have questioned at least one suspect.  The value of the signs is estimated to be around $4000.
