On any given weekend, chances are you will find kids playing soccer somewhere in Western New York...yes even during the winter months.

You see nearly 10,000 kids are signed up at various leagues across the area to play the beautiful game soccer.

From travel teams like GPS New York, (Which my son Avry plays for) Empire United and DSC to local town teams in West Seneca, Lockport, Amherst and more there are plenty of kids kicking the ball around.

So why would a pro team be good for them...the future.

You see when a pro team comes to town, they also develop academy teams and grassroots programs that will allow more kids to participate.

Also, most soccer teams like to include youth players in their game-day plans. From kids walking out with players before games to ball boys and girls on the sideline, young players get up close and personal interaction with players, coaches, and fans.

Fingers crossed that Buffalo will be able to bring another pro soccer team to Buffalo.
