Winter Carnival And More Activites Around WNY!

I’ve been on an endless search for new and exciting adventures and activities around WNY.  Here’s a few for the weekend that you should definitely check out!

This weekend at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville is the Winter Carnival.  Who doesn’t love a carnival even if it’s outside in the cold and snow!  Please we are from Buffalo we can handle it!  This one is a lot of fun too.  Tomorrow they have a Ski Patrol pancake Breakfast at the Top of Champagne in the Warming Hut, there’s a cookout at the Base of Yodeler, a Mardi Gras Costume parade, a Wine and Cheese Party, and even Dummy Downhill.  There is a lot of family friendly events like face painting and a hot dog cookout that the kids will love!  If you are heading out to the winter carnival they are having a Ski Patrol Food Drive.  They are asking for any canned goods to be donated during the Mardi Gras Parade downtown tomorrow.  All of the Goods and donations are going to benefit the Ellicottville Food Pantry.  Events tomorrow kick off at 9am. 

Then again if being outside doesn’t sound that great why not check out a play inside.  Over at the Lancaster Opera House they have King O’ Moon: Over the Tavern Part II.  This is the second of the Buffalo native Tom Dudzick’s famous Buffalo based Trilogy.  I have seen Part I before and I loved it but I’m a theater person so I’ll love most plays and musicals.  This one follows the Pazinski family thru the 50s to the 60s.  It really gives us a great look into our history with the play opening up with Apollo 11 landing on the moon, then to Vietnam and more. 

Finally one of my favorite events is coming to the Hamburg Fairgrounds this week!  The circus is in town!!  The Ismailia Shrine Circus is here this weekend kicking off Thursday at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.  They have everything at this circus.  There’s the High Wire Acts, the Tigers, Flying Trapeze, Jugglers, and my favorite guys the Clowns!  This has to be one of my favorite!  This is a fun filled family experience.  The Shrine Circus runs Thursday to Sunday at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.
