
Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Southern Tier
As the Game Of Thrones saying goes..."Winter is coming" and coming in full force across southern Western New York.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several counties in Western New York starting on Thursday morning at 1 am until 6 pm on Thursday evening.
The advisory is mainly for the Southern Tier.
Wyoming-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus-Southern Erie- Including the cities of Warsaw, Jamestown, Olean, Orchard Park, and Springville 507 AM EST Wed Jan 15 2020 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 6 PM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties. * WHEN...From 1 AM to 6 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and or evening commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving. We are expected to see widespread snow across all of Western New York this weekend with possibly more than a foot in some areas.
