The winter weather will continue across Western New York as cold and snow are back in the forecast today. We got a bit of a break from the lake effect snow early on Wednesday, but that will change by the afternoon.
Winter Weather Advisory Issued For All Of Western New York
More widespread snow is expected today across Western New York, along with some of the coldest temperatures of the year, and that has led the National Weather Service in Buffalo to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for all of Western New York.
The advisory will start at Noon today and last until 7 am on Thursday morning.
Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow.
Travel will also be impacted by the weather. Yesterday, the I-90 was closed for a second time this week due to a major accident. Yesterday's accident involved over 60 vehicles.
If you have to be on the roads today, make sure that you are careful and give yourself plenty of space between you and the vehicles around you.
