Your Boat Sinks…Your Next Step…Probably Not What This Guy Did

I think its safe to say, we have all had those days where nothing seems to be going right, and the thought of just going back to bed crosses our mind. This may have been the case for one Buffalo man after a serious misfortune on Lake Erie...

As soon as I heard this story from WGRZ, all I wanted to do was yell "WILSON!" from one of my favorite movies Cast Away. Luckily this wasn't the same plot or anything like that, but a Buffalo man did find himself stuck on an island!...Well okay more like the breakwall across from the Erie Basin Marina after his boat started to take on water and eventually sunk.

The captain, a man in his 30s, called 911 and explained to the dispatcher his boat was sinking, and he had no idea where he was. A very scary situation indeed, but the caller also stated he was only in knee deep water. The man was found after multiple agencies worked together to complete a search and rescue... Now for the funny part...The man was found sound asleep on the breakwall!

All I could think of is what I would have done in this situation, and honestly, I probably would have done the same. I guess I wouldn't have decided to take a snooze knowing multiple police agencies were trying to save me, but when it's a bad day, sometimes it's just better to head to bed and start fresh the next day.
