Buffalo Prepares To Welcome It’s First Ever Cruise Ship This Summer
Most people have no idea that Buffalo has beach bars. They think that all we have is a frozen tundra, but this summer it's actually going to become a cruise destination.
Buffalo is welcoming its first ever cruise ship
It's been in the works for awhile now, but it will become official this summer. Buffalo, New York is becoming a port of call for American Cruise Lines. According to Buffalo Business First, they will be offering a 14-day cruise that will travel the Great Lakes and make stops at Toledo, Detroit, Buffalo, and five other cities in Michigan.
The ship is called The American Patriot and it will be making it's first stop here in May.
The American Patriot is one of their newest ships
While it's not a huge ship that will carry thousands of passengers, the American Patriot is one of American Cruise Line's newest ships. It will hold 130 guests and has 5 decks. The suites range from 420 to 620 square feet and have private balconies in every stateroom. It will also include a walking track, a fitness center, and a glass enclosed main restaurant. Some of the cruises they will offer
According to their website, there are a couple of different options that will start or end in Buffalo. One thing to keep in mind is that most of the cruises that include Buffalo are one way trips. You will have to find your own way home if you depart from Buffalo, or you will have to travel to the city where the cruise will begin and then end in Buffalo.
One of them covers the American Great Lakes. That's the one mentioned above with stops in Toledo, Detroit, Milwaukee, and more.
The other is called the Great Lakes & Thousand Islands. It sails through Lake Erie and lake Ontario and stops in Niagara Falls, Rochester, Oswego and ends in the Thousand Islands.
Tickets are on sale now and range from over $7,925 - $10,800 per person.
