It's hard not to be put in a good mood when you hear "Yeah" by Joe Nichols. Despite the song's unusual plain title, it manages to put a smile on your face every time it comes on.

Released in January of 2014, it hit #1 for Joe Nichols the last week of July, 2014. It was Joe's sixth #1 hit on the Mediabase country chart and his fifth on the Billboard Country Airplay.

The song was written by Ashley Gorley and Bryan Simpson. Gorley has written many hit country songs, including "Laughed Until We Cried" by Jason Aldean, "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins and "Dirt on My Boots" by Jon Pardi.

I always loved the iPod lyric in "Yeah":

"Then she played me some band on her iPod
Kinda hit me kinda hippie and I thought, naw
But I said yeah, yeah, yeah"

It hits home more than I probably like to admit. There's times my significant other plays a song I'm not into but I nod and say "oh yeah, I like this"...
