Buffalo’s “Most Hated” Man Selflessly Saves Woman On Ledge
Many people in Buffalo, New York will tell you that they are not fans of this celebrity, but you may change your tune after hearing what happened this week in Nashville.
Jon Bon Jovi is known for being the founder and frontman of the rock band, Bon Jovi. He has many songs, including “Livin’ On A Prayer,” “You Give Love A Bad Name,” “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” and more!
Bon Jovi has never been a bad guy…in fact, he was recently named the 2024 “MusiCares” Person of the Year” for his efforts to establish a successful nonprofit to help people in need. He launched the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation about two decades ago to help those dealing with homelessness and hunger.
Despite all of the good he has done, Bon Jovi has a bad reputation in Buffalo after published reports that he wanted to purchase the Buffalo Bills and move them to Canada. Some people have even called him the "Most Hated Man In Buffalo."
Bon Jovi teamed up with a group of businessmen in Toronto who own the Maple Leafs, the Raptors, and the Air Canada Centre in an attempt to purchase the Buffalo Bills, according to NY Mag. Many fans in Western New York theorized that he wanted to move the Bills to Ontario to expand the NFL’s international reach, and while the idea sounds good on paper, it would absolutely devastate everyone who grew up with the Bills in Buffalo – aka the OG Fans.
However, I think everyone can agree (especially Bills fans) that what Bon Jovi did in Nashville this week speaks volumes about his truly good character.
Jon Bon Jovi was on a Nashville pedestrian bridge for a photo shoot on Tuesday evening, when he noticed a woman on the outer edge of the bridge, appearing as though she was preparing to jump into the Cumberland River below.
Thankfully, Bon Jovi was in the right place at the right time and he helped persuade the woman to come off the ledge. The two of them hugged before walking away from the bridge.
Emergency responders, including the Nashville Fire Department and Metro Nashville Police Department, arrived at the scene shortly after the conversation with Bon Jovi began, according to CBS.
The police department acknowledged Bon Jovi’s efforts on their official Facebook page.
You will never regret being kind, and thank goodness that Bon Jovi took the time to talk to the woman on the ledge. He saved her life.
And that is an example of the good Samaritan, Bills Mafia mentality. So glad the woman is ok!
It just goes to show you that you never know what battles someone is fighting behind the scenes, so always be kind and show compassion when you are able.
And remember: if you or someone you know is in crisis, you can call the 24/7 Crisis Hotline at 800-273-TALK (8255).
