They say “breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” but you’d be surprised how many people don’t have time to make breakfast at home. 

In fact, most Americans seem to take breakfast on the go, spending about $5-10 every time (and yes, if you only get a coffee, that counts as getting breakfast “on the go”).

But where do they go? It’s not what you think. 

Looking at a nationwide study that surveyed 10,000 Americans, each state had a unique preference when it came to their best breakfast fast food place, and nobody had Tim Horton’s on top. 

In fact, Dunkin Donuts didn’t make the #1 spot in any designated state either! 

For New Yorkers, we opt for a McDonald’s breakfast when we eat the meal on the go, which is in tune with the national rankings for fast food breakfast places. 

Chick-Fil-A earned a close second.
