Buffalo Sabres’ Jack Eichel Goes Down With Ankle Injury

It's the worst news you can imagine as a Buffalo Sabres fan just a few days out from the home opener.  Jack Eichel went down to the ice today with an apparent ankle injury and had to be helped off the ice.

That's what coach Dan Bylsma had to share at a press conference after practice today.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much to be told after the practice either.  All that was said was that he had an ankle injury.  There was no mention of whether he would be out for any period of time or when he might be able to return to the ice.

The Sabres begin their season this Thursday.
