The Buffalo Bills have dominated the headlines in Western New York the last decade, but with the NFL on break for the next three to four weeks, this is the time to focus on the NHL and the Buffalo Sabres.

The Sabres will have a very busy 2022 NHL Draft.

Buffalo holds three first round picks and four of the top 41. Two of those three first round picks came from the Jack Eichel (Las Vegas) and Sam Reinhart (Florida) trades.

General manager Kevyn Adams holds the 9th, 16th and 28th overall picks in round one, and surely Adams had gotten calls already about one or all three of those picks in a potential trade.

Whatever the Sabres decide to do with the first round of the NHL Draft, they will have to do it on a different day than the first round of the NHL Draft is normally held.

In case you didn't know, the 2022 NHL Draft will hold hits first round on a Thursday night, instead of the usual Friday night.

The first round will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, July 7th. That means rounds 2-7 will be held on Friday, July 8th. The first round will be aired live on ESPN here in the United States.

I'm not entirely sure how many Sabres fans know that the first round of the draft is on a Thursday. By the way, if you're a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, Thor: Love and War will be released on the same night as the first round of the NHL Draft, so I'm sure many Sabres fans will be caught off guard if they're going to the movie theater.

The draft will be held in Montreal next week and let's hope that the Sabres draft some studs. My bet would be at least two forwards of the three first round picks, assuming they keep all three...
