February is officially over and that means that we are looking forward to the arrival of spring to Western New York.

March is really the biggest mixed bag of weather of the year. You could have cold and snow one day and warmth and rain the next, you just never know.

After a cold Monday to close out February, Tuesday has been much better for temperatures to open March. We should climb to the mid-40's today, before another cooldown for Wednesday and Thursday.

However, this weekend is what Western New York should be looking forward to. It involves both good news and bad news.

The good news is that Buffalo and Western New York will see a big-time warming this Saturday and Sunday.

According to Mike Cejka of WIVB, the high temperature for Buffalo on Sunday will be 60 degrees!

The bad news is that rain and high winds will also make their impact for the region, Saturday night into Sunday.

According to the Weather Channel, winds will be 20-30 mph for Sunday, with gusts that will be even stronger.

Whenever there's a sharp warmup like that, high winds and precipitation usually follow, so we shouldn't be too surprised.

The forecasted highs are in the 30's and 40's for next week though, so it looks like we have turned the corner after this week and will be out of the bitterly cold weather for good soon!
