Erie, Chautauqua, Alleghany, and surrounding counties already knew we were going to see some rain today, but woah. I’m not sure we were expecting this.

The remnants of Hurricane Beryl, the category one storm which caused destruction throughout the southern United States earlier this week, had much of Western New York in its path. Although it wasn't nearly as severe as places like Texas, the burst of thunderstorms and high winds caused enough alarm that over a dozen tornado warnings were promoted throughout the area within the span of an hour on Wednesday afternoon.

The storms left over 150,000 Erie county residents without power, and caused trees to tumble down and roofing damage to property throughout the area.
