It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This week, our Hometown Hero is from Corfu, NY.  From our United States Air Force, it’s E-7 Master Sergeant Terry Florian!

Terry spent 22 years in the Air Force. With the activation and his enlistment 8 years active and the rest reserve. He joined in 1986 and his first assignement was at Greenham Common in the UK. While there, was assigned to ground launch cruise missle dispersal squadron. He secured cruise missiles on mobile launchers out in the field 15 days out of every month. Then it was onto Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. In Nellis He worked a weapons storage area and later was an instructor at Silver Flag Alpha.

 

Terry also did two tours in Korea one at Osan AFB and one at Kunson AFB. He has also been to Italy, Germany, Cypress among many other places in the United States.  He has also been deployed to Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait. He has since  retired as an E-7 Master Sargent.

 

This week, we are honored to name Master Sergeant Terry Florian our Hometown Hero of the week!
