United States Air Force Formation Will Fly Over New York State Today
This is going to be really cool. The United States airforce will have a formation of planes in the sky this afternoon that will be visible from Buffalo to New York City. Here are the times that the formation will be flying over Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester, Albany, Syracuse Ithaca, and New York City.
The Airforce and Air Mobility Wing are celebrating being able to refuel in the air. This will be the 100th year for celebrations. According to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
In the continued pursuit of advanced capabilities and increased endurance, U.S. Army Air Service aviators pulled off the impossible on June 27, 1923. On that day, 1st Lt. Virgil Hine and 1st Lt. Frank W. Seifert, flying a DH-4B, passed gasoline through a hose to another DH-4B flying beneath it carrying Capt. Lowell H. Smith and 1st Lt. John P. Richter, accomplishing the first aerial refueling.

There will be 2 different formations that will be going almost at the same time. One will go over most of New York and the other formation will go over the New York City / New Jersey area.

The planes will be departing from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
