The UB Men's Basketball season ended on Sunday with a loss to Texas Tech in the NCAA Tournament.  But today, there's more news from that program as head coach Nate Oats inks a deal with Alabama.

He was the 2018 and 2019 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year and is one of 11 finalists for the 2019 Werner Ladder Naismith Men’s College Coach of the Year awarded by the Atlanta Tipoff Club and now Alabama is thrilled to announce that they have named the UB coach to their staff.

Coach Oats will become the 21st head coach to lead the Crimson Tide.

He was brought in to coach as Bobby Hurley's assistant and then was named head coach in 2015.  Since then he led the Bulls to a 96-43 (.691) record, three MAC Tournament Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including reaching the round of 32 in each of the last two seasons.

It's a huge loss for UB and a huge win for Alabama.  We wish him well as he takes on this next challenge.
